These recent days have been filled with disruptive news regarding two women who wear the Islamic headscarf (hijab) and their images in public spaces. One of the images is a photo of a woman wearing a hijab that the workers union “Unionen” chose to publish, and the other one is about Suzan Hindi, a woman living in the city of Gävle. Her photo is shown on a large poster at the entrance to the city. Unfortunately, it has been vandalized by xenophobic individuals. In a try to include minorities, in this case Muslims, there have been some people that have shown their position against the publications of a female wearing a hijab. This is something that hinders integration that is important for people with immigrant background and especially women wearing the hijab.
