Mr Hanif Azizi is what you may call an extraordinary example of an integrated immigrant. He came to Sweden as a refugee from Afghanistan, and currently works as a police officer. At his spare time, he lectures on the topic of immigration. Amongst the key issues he tackles during his lectures are: how to make the immigrants feel like they are a part of the society, how to approach the youth in an interpersonal level, how to create a preventive thinking in your activity, which factors contribute to making the youth drawn in to gang violence etc.
Mr Hanif says that: “as for gang violence, then that is often the result of destructive environment, mental illness and absent parents etc. Many youths lack prospects for themselves, and they have a hard time seeing their own part in the society. No matter which country you may come from, you ought to feel that you are a part of the Swedish society.
